Air File · Effective 2026-07-10

Air File lets people send files to others through a private, expiring download link. We do not host a public library and we do not browse, index, or endorse the files users transfer. Even so, we do not tolerate the use of Air File to store or share content that is illegal or that infringes someone else's rights. This page explains what is not allowed and how to report it.

3. Copyright / DMCA Takedown Notices

We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws. To submit a takedown notice, email dropbeam@proton.me with the subject “DMCA takedown notice” and include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
  3. the specific Air File download link (the /d/… URL) you want removed;
  4. your name, address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Please note that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA you may be liable for damages if you knowingly materially misrepresent that material is infringing.

4. What Happens Next

When we receive a valid report or takedown notice, we will review it promptly and, where appropriate, disable the offending download link so its files can no longer be accessed. Because transfers are short-lived and expire on their own, many links will already have expired by the time a report is processed. We may also suspend accounts or installations associated with repeated or egregious abuse.

5. Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may email us a counter-notice at dropbeam@proton.me including your contact information, identification of the removed material and the link at which it appeared, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
